Sustainability Competence Center

The Sustainability Competence Center is the university's strategic hub, with a mission to integrate environmental sustainability into the institution's academic, educational, and innovation life. Our goal is for the sustainability approach to be not just a theory, but a fundamental pillar of university operations and research.

Mit jelent a fenntarthatóság, fenntartható fejlődés? Fogalma, fontossá – PatentDuoWhy the Sustainability Competence Center?

    • Integrated approach: We connect theoretical research with practical education.
    • Professional base: A full-time team of experts and a broad research network.
    • Future-oriented knowledge: Up-to-date answers to international sustainability challenges.

Our Goal and Vision

The goal of the Sustainability Competence Center is to integrate the accumulated knowledge in the field of sustainability with research, education, and professional collaborations. Through this, we not only contribute to the development of the university's knowledge base but also ensure that the sustainability approach is present at a long-term, strategic level in the institution's operations, training, and research portfolio.

Our Mission

"We integrate the accumulated knowledge in the field of sustainability with research and education, ensuring that the sustainability approach is applied at a long-term and strategic level in the institution's operations."

Our Main Activities

The Center's work is carried out by a dedicated professional staff, in close cooperation with the university's teaching and research community. Our activities focus on three main areas:

1. Research and international relations

We coordinate institutional sustainability research and actively build international research networks. We facilitate the international dissemination of results, increasing the university's scientific visibility.

2. Education support and content development

We support the integration of the sustainability approach into training programs. We provide professional assistance for:

      • Developing new educational content.
      • Incorporating sustainability knowledge into curricula.
      • Designing practice-oriented, attitude-shaping courses

3. Strategic coordination

We harmonize sustainability-related R&D activities and strengthen professional collaborations between the university's internal units and external partners.

Collaboration in Education

Our Center is in direct contact with departments – especially the Department of Applied Sustainability – to ensure students receive the most up-to-date knowledge.
