- Dr Zsolt Szepesváry, Vice-Dean for Development at the Faculty of Health and Sports Sciences of Széchenyi István University, Head of the Urology Department of the Aladár Petz University Teaching Hospital, was recognized in the Hungarian Science category at the Príma Awards ceremony in the former synagogue and concert hall of Széchenyi István University, in Győr-Moson-Sopron County.

SZE Drives Health Innovations with Catalyst Europe Programme

- Széchenyi István University hosted a professional event based on the linQ Catalyst methodology of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) from 12 to 14 November. The programme aims to generate health innovations that will contribute to the advancement of medicine and improve people's health.

AI Innovation at Széchenyi University Supports At-Home Rehabilitation

- Several health technology developments are currently underway at Széchenyi István University. One of them allows patients to perform the physical exercises necessary for their rehabilitation in their own homes. The AI-based software not only assesses the accuracy of movement sequences but is also capable of providing the attending physician with a comprehensive report.

SZÉCHENYI ISTVÁN UNIVERSITY HELPS SYRIAN SUDENTS WHO STARTED A FAMILY

- Széchenyi István University is not only home to outstanding academic achievements and successful career paths, but often plays an important role in the private lives of students as well. This was the case for two young Syrians, Maria and Bassel, who came to Győr on scholarship as spouses and became a family. The institution supports them in completing their studies.

- Október 5-7. között került megrendezésre a Magyar Táplálkozástudományi Társaság éves vándorgyűlése, melynek idén Győr városa és a Széchenyi István Egyetem volt a házigazdája. A konferencián, mintegy 70 előadás hangzott el a táplálkozástudományt és élelmiszeripart érintő legfrissebb kutatások eredményeit bemutatva.

HUMAN RIGHTS AT THE CENTRE OF PANEL DISCUSSION AT SZÉCHENYI ISTVÁN UNIVERSITY

The universal value of human dignity was one of the main conclusions of a panel discussion organized by Széchenyi István University at the institution’s Budapest Innovation and Training Centre. The event was prompted by the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights this year.

BETTER TO GIVE THAN TO RECEIVE - CHILDREN'S HOME CHARITY PROJECT

- Széchenyi István University’s international students crocheted blankets as part of the Dorcas Charity Project. They donated these hand crocheted blankets to the residents of the Children's Protection Centre in Győr. The participants have also launched a cultural series for the older children living at the Centre, aimed to encouraging further education and introducing them to far away countries.

- A győri Széchenyi István Egyetem az idén is résztvevője volt hazánk legnagyobb sportkonferenciájának, a Sport Forum Hungary-nek. Az intézmény mérnöki képzései, a fenntarthatóságot szolgáló technológiai újításai és kutatás-fejlesztési tevékenysége révén sok szálon kötődik a mobilitáshoz.

EXPERTS FROM THE PETZ HOSPITAL IN GYŐR AND SZÉCHENYI UNIVERSITY PRESENTED THE SURGICAL ROBOT

- The Da Vinci surgical robot was presented to the staff of the Petz Aladár University Teaching Hospital in Győr at a professional programme organised by the institution and the experts of Széchenyi István University. The aim is to make this state-of-the-art surgical procedure available in Győr in the future, benefiting both patients and doctors.

MIT LINQ CATALYST EUROPE PROGRAMME AT SZE: FOCUS ON INNOVATIVE HEALTH RESEARCH PROJECTS

- Széchenyi István University, Győr, is hosting a workshop under the MIT LinQ Catalyst Europe programme and in collaboration with GE Healthcare on 25-27 January, which focusses on exploring and supporting healthcare research projects. The programme aims to introduce researchers working on healthcare innovation projects to the methodological elements at the heart of the MIT LinQ Catalyst Europe programme.

SZE: BENEFICIAL RESULTS FOR HEALTHCARE CAN EMERGE WITHIN THE CATALYST EUROPE PROGRA

- Széchenyi István University in Győr is hosting an event based on the MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) LinQ Catalyst methodology from 19 to 21 September, focusing on the exploration of unmet healthcare needs as the first step in developing a portfolio of research projects. The goal is to bring as many of these projects to fruition as possible, contributing to the advancement of medical science and improvement in health-related outcomes.

LECTURE ON ADDICTIONS: SZE BELEIVES STUDENTS' MENTAL HEALTH TO BE A PRIORITY

- In addition to alcohol and drugs, many other substances and activities, from the internet to gambling, can cause addiction, said Dr. Gábor Feller, Head of the Department of Psychiatry, Mental Health and Addiction Medicine at the Petz Aladár County Teaching Hospital in Győr, at a lecture at SZE. The programme was well attended and covered what to do if a friend gets into trouble and what to look out for in relation to yourself.

SZE ESTABLISHES HEALTH TECHNOLOGY CAMPUS AND COMPETENCE CENTRE

- Széchenyi István University is establishing a health technology campus and competence centre by renovating the former hospital building complex on Zrínyi utca in Győr, where education, R&D and services will be located in one place.
