Affordable housing for students (11.4.5)

Széchenyi István University supports affordable student housing through a combination of direct accommodation provision, housing-related financial support and needs-based assessment mechanisms. The University operates multiple halls of residence and provides dormitory accommodation for students on its campuses, making university-managed housing available as an affordable accommodation option.

In addition to providing accommodation directly, the University offers a dedicated Housing Support (Lakhatási támogatás) scheme as part of its student financial aid system. Housing support is available alongside other social support measures, including regular and extraordinary social scholarships.

The allocation of housing-related support is based on an assessment of students’ social and financial circumstances. The University’s social support framework considers factors such as place of residence, travel distance, household circumstances and social need when determining eligibility for housing assistance and related benefits. The Social Support Guide contains all necessary information regarding the process of application for housing assistance.
