Pedestrian priority on campus (11.4.6)

Széchenyi István University promotes a pedestrian-friendly campus environment through its compact campus design and sustainability commitments. Student residences, teaching facilities and essential services are located within short walking distances, enabling students and staff to access academic buildings, accommodation and everyday services on foot. The University considers the creation of safer and greener campus environments a key element of its sustainability strategy and aims to increase the share of sustainable and green transport among students and employees.

The Sustainability Strategy 2022-2030 further includes measures to strengthen green transport, expand bicycle infrastructure and develop a sustainable transport hub on campus, supporting reduced dependence on motorised transport and encouraging active mobility.
