Public access to museums (11.2.3)

Széchenyi István University provides public access to multiple exhibition spaces and heritage collections across its campuses. The University Library and Archives hosts several permanent exhibitions, including the István Széchenyi Memorial Exhibition, the Owl Exhibition, the University History Exhibition, and the Dr. Ernő Barsi Memorial Exhibition.  The Cziráki Lajos Exhibition Space, part of Széchenyi István University’s Apáczai Csere János Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences regularly presents exhibitions featuring contemporary artists and talented students. On 3 October 2025, the Győr County Autumn Exhibition opened at the Apáczai Csere János Faculty. The annual exhibition showcases the latest works of visual and applied artists who live and work in the Győr district or have their roots there. These exhibitions are free of charge.

The event “The Celebration of Letters” was held at Széchenyi István University’s Design Campus and was presented as Hungary’s first typography festival. It provided public and free access to a cultural and educational programme focused on typography, design, and visual communication. By opening the Design Campus to visitors and offering opportunities to engage with exhibitions, presentations, and creative works, the event supported community participation in cultural life.

Óvári Vár, home of the Albert Kázmér Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences, maintains a dedicated exhibition space within the historic castle building, contributing to public engagement with cultural heritage and exhibitions. The exhibition space is publicly presented on the castle website through its dedicated exhibition page.
