RESZETT Programme – Sustainability Education Outreach (2025)
In spring 2025, Széchenyi István University continued the RESZETT programme, an educational initiative designed to promote understanding of the circular economy and sustainability through experiential learning and the LEGO Education methodology. Developed at the University, the programme combines sustainability education, robotics, programming, and hands-on learning activities for school-age learners. The programme enables children to explore sustainability challenges while actively engaging in problem-solving and technology-based learning.
As part of the programme, a fourth-grade class from the University’s Öveges Practice School completed all four RESZETT modules in the University’s LEGO experiential learning laboratory and newly established STEAM classroom. In addition, outreach sessions were delivered during Sustainability Week at the Arany János Bilingual Primary School and Kazinczy Ferenc Secondary School in Győr, introducing pupils from different age groups to sustainability concepts through interactive activities.
The programme also extended beyond the classroom through participation in the IV. Sövény Eco-Olympics, a sustainability-awareness event organized by the Municipality of Győr. University students led RESZETT-related activities and educational tasks for schoolchildren, helping participants learn about environmental responsibility and sustainable practices in a playful and engaging way.
Tanítsunk Magyarországért (Teach for Hungary) Programme (2025)
Through the Tanítsunk Magyarországért (Teach for Hungary) 2025 programme, Széchenyi István University supports pupils living in smaller settlements by involving university students as mentors. In 2025, the University’s mentor students worked with upper-primary school pupils in partner schools across Győr-Moson-Sopron and Komárom-Esztergom counties, providing personalised support for educational progression, career orientation, and further study opportunities. At Tápszentmiklós Primary School, university mentors regularly worked with seventh- and eighth-grade pupils, helping them develop confidence, discover future educational pathways, and strengthen their motivation to continue their studies. The programme also offers university students practical experience in mentoring, communication, problem-solving, and community engagement.
Bosch–Mobilis Secondary School Programme (2025)
In 2025, Széchenyi István University’s Mobilis Interactive Exhibition Centre and Robert Bosch Ltd. jointly implemented a skills-development programme for secondary school students aimed at preparing young people for the challenges of the digital era. The programme provided hands-on experience in robotics, artificial intelligence, microcontrollers, programming, and digital technologies. Secondary school students explored sensor technologies, data processing, machine learning concepts, image recognition, and robotics through practical workshops and project-based activities. The initiative sought to strengthen digital competences, support career orientation, and improve participants’ readiness for further education and the future labour market. Students were given the opportunity to experiment with emerging technologies and gain insight into Industry 4.0 and Industry 5.0 innovations through experiential learning activities.

Through its “Me and My Country” programme, Széchenyi István University involves international students in delivering educational sessions for residents of a local children’s home and the wider university community. The initiative promotes intercultural understanding, global citizenship, diversity, and social inclusion through community-based learning and cultural exchange.
Interstellar Connections Day – Science Outreach for School Students 2025
In July 2025, Széchenyi István University, the Mobilis Interactive Exhibition Centre, and the National Media and Infocommunications Authority (NMHH) jointly organized the “Interstellar Connections Day” educational event in Győr. As part of the HUNOR Hungarian Astronaut Programme, primary and secondary school students had the unique opportunity to speak live with Hungarian research astronaut Tibor Kapu, who connected directly from the International Space Station.
The event was specifically designed for young learners and combined direct interaction with a scientist working in space with a full day of science communication and educational activities. Sixteen selected pupils were able to ask questions during the live radio connection, while approximately 300 participants attended the event and took part in scientific and educational programmes related to space research, technology, innovation, and scientific discovery.
